Welcome to Caprivi Mutoya Lodge

Discover a hidden oasis nestled within the embrace of nature’s beauty at Caprivi Mutoya Lodge & Campsite. Our lodge is a haven situated in a small riverine forest, delicately perched on the tranquil banks of a backwater lake connected to the Zambezi River.

Just 24 kilometers east of Katima Mulilo, our serene escape is adorned by the presence of ancient Jackalberry trees, their sprawling branches intertwining with the stories of the land. These majestic trees, often referred to as African Ebony, stand as witnesses to the passage of time and host a vibrant community of life, from playful squirrels and curious monkeys to a chorus of diverse birds. As you step into our sanctuary, let the harmony of nature envelop you, and embark on a journey where every whisper of the breeze carries the magic of the Zambezi’s embrace.

Our Accommodations

At Caprivi Mutoya Lodge & Campsite, we offer a diverse range of accommodations, each thoughtfully designed to provide you with a unique experience immersed in nature. Whether you’re seeking the coziness of a room, the adventurous spirit of a tent, or the rustic charm of a campsite, we have something to suit every traveler’s taste.

An amazing lodge. Excellent food/service/location This lodge is one of a kind as owners make you feel very welcome. The food and service were excellent and location is perfect. We specifically loved the bar/restaurant area (accessible throughout the day to campers/guests) built around a huge tree that provides shade: very beautiful! We also did the Zambezi sunset cruise activity and would highly recommend it: many things to see in and out of the river. Thanks again for everything!

Sunset canoe and great food Lovely stay. Wonderful canoe on sunset and jellyfish in cold water, first to see. Red wine glass, Chicken with vegatables and potatoes with wood burning fire in windless night created perfect ambience. Friendly staff added to great stay.

Heavenly paradise in remote bushland We really were not expecting such luxury, it was really a very nice surprise. Our hosts were chatty and charming. The accomodation was perfect. Just simple and clean, fully functional. Beds, plumbing everything. Mischievous monkeys on site , so be careful.

A little piece of paradise Excellent place. The owners and staff were very friendly, especially Zayne and Fidelis. Great service. We stayed in the Luxury Tents for five days and thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Nice relaxing atmosphere and some activities like canoeing, swimming and fishing.

Lovely stay - plenty of shade, peace & quiet. I spent 2 nights here in one of the chalets as self-catering guest. Very clean, everything you need, including aircondition for the hot temperatures. Beautiful gardens, abundant birdlife. Never got to the canoeing but will stay here again for sure.

Break from daily work Our stay at Caprivi Mutoya lodge were magnificent. We arrived on the 22nd Oct 2021. We felt that we are at home away from home. The host Nonna was an amazing hostess. We were treated as if we were old friends. Her hospitality was amazing. She immediately arranged my Zambezi river fishing and sundowner cruise. I managed two barbels, the tiger fish still missing from my bucket list. The food, drinks and hospitality and rooms were of high standard, Thanks Nonna for your personal touch to our amazing stay. Lovely Campsite - wonderful stay We spent three nights at Caprivi Mutoya enjoying the lush green site under bog shady trees. We did two sunset paddling tours with the Canon. Wonderful! They are free for guests. You can but fresh fish at the village nearby There are nice bungalows which guarantee more comfort. The owners are very friendly and we had a warm welcome! Come and see!

On the banks of the Zambezi We spent 2 nights in a cottage on the bank of the Zambezi at the Caprivi Mutoya. The staff and facilities were great and this made our time there birding very pleasant. We did a late afternoon boat trip through the back channels and the river proper seeing lots of interesting birds and scenery. The patio where meals are served is under a huge Jackalberry tree. A spectacular setting for watching sunrise or sunset while sipping a cool drink.

Brilliant 2nd stay here Prime purpose of visit was to fish for Tiger and spend time on the Zambezi. It didn’t disappoint, caught a 3.5 kg fish. Fidelis, our guide again was great. Such a nice man and very experienced. The location is lovely on a lake. Chalets well equipped and very clean. Good clean pool, lovely setting and well maintained environment.
