Visa Requirements for Namibia
Updated as of 31 March 2025
Namibia has introduced updated visa requirements effective 31 March 2025. This page provides all the essential information and official resources to help you prepare for your visit.
Visa Categories
Citizens from a number of countries are not required to obtain a visa to enter Namibia for tourism or business purposes, for stays of up to 90 days within a calendar year. These travelers can simply present their valid passport upon arrival and will be granted entry.
Key Requirements:
Passport valid for at least 6 months with at least 3 blank pages
Proof of onward or return travel
Accommodation booking or host invitation
Sufficient funds for your stay
Overstaying your visa-free period may result in fines, penalties, or future entry restrictions.
Travelers from specific countries can obtain a visa at the point of entry (such as Hosea Kutako International Airport or through certain regional border posts – for info on the border posts, please download the attached fact sheet). This option is convenient but still requires basic documentation.
What You’ll Need:
- A passport valid for at least 6 months
- Return or onward flight ticket
- Proof of accommodation or an invitation letter
- Payment for the visa fee (credit card only).
VISA FEES:
African countries:
A fee of NAD 1,200.00 (approximately USD 70)
Children aged 6 to 11 years pay half price: NAD 600.00 per child (approximately USD 35)
*Children under the age of 6 are exempt from fees – no charges apply.
Other countries:
A fee of NAD 1,600.00 (approximately USD 90)
Children aged 6 – 11 years pay half price: NAD 800.00 per child (approximately USD 45)
*Children under the age of 6 are exempt from fees – no charges apply.
Please download the VISA Application Form that can be filled out before arrival, BUT travellers need to leave the signature and date open to be signed in front of the Immigration Official on arrival in Namibia.
Note:
It is strongly advised to double-check if you’re eligible for a visa on arrival before you travel, as policies may vary or be subject to change.
If your country is not on the visa-exempt or visa-on-arrival list, you must apply for a visa before traveling to Namibia through the official eVisa platform.
Note: This is a multi-entry visa that is valid for up to 90 days.
Application Requirements Typically Include:
- Completed online application form
- Valid passport for 6 months and 3 blank pages
- Recent passport-size photo
- Health / Travel Insurance
